Meet Dr. Jordan Koivu
Owner and Veterinarian
Dr. Koivu grew up in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and developed a love for horses at young age. She left the Maritimes to gain diversified education and experience in equine veterinary medicine. The vision was always to return to the east coast and build a practice that provided elite care for equine companions and athletes. In her spare time, she enjoys riding, skiing and traveling.

Dr.Jordan acquired a Bachelor of Science at St. Lawrence University in upstate New York. She played an active role in the university’s equestrian program and competed in hunter/jumper competitions throughout the East Coast and Florida. After graduating from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2015, she carried on to fulfill an internship at New England Equine Medical & Surgical Center in Dover, New Hampshire. Following that, she worked for TD Equine in Calgary, Alberta where she gained invaluable experience in lameness and sports medicine. She served elite venues like Spruce Meadows and Rocky Mountain Show Jumping. She completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship affiliated with the University of Calgary Veterinary School in June 2018 to further strengthen her expertise. Most recently, Dr. Jordan has been working throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick providing equine veterinary care.
Meet Charlotte Wightman
Operations Manager & Veterinary Assistant
Charlotte grew up in Windsor, Nova Scotia where she developed a keen interest for horses through competition in the Nova Scotia Hunter/Jumper circuit along with her family’s standardbred breeding farm. As the Operations Manager and Veterinary Assistant, Charlotte is committed to providing excellent client service to owners while assisting Dr. Koivu with equine care. She is excited to be back in Nova Scotia and to once again work with Dr. Koivu.
She attended Acadia University, where she acquired a Bachelor of Science. Since 2016, Charlotte has worked at an equine sports medicine clinic in Calgary, Alberta where she gained extensive experience working as a field assistant to fellow maritimer, Dr. Candice Crosby. She has a special interest in equine reproduction and played an integral role in the breeding management of mares and stallions while in Calgary. Additionally, she managed the care of pregnant mares prior to foaling, during foaling, after foaling, and care of the neonatal foal.

Meet Dr. Emily Comstock
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Emily Comstock started riding horses at the age of 10 and grew up as an active member of her local equine 4-H club in Barre, Vermont. She completed her BS in Natural Science from Lyndon State College in 2010, and then attended the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island, where she received her DVM in 2015. Emily went on to complete an internship in equine medicine and surgery at the Vermont Large Animal Clinic in Milton, VT, from June 2015 - June 2016.

After completing her internship, Dr. Emily went into private practice and eventually started her own ambulatory large animal service based in central VT, called Maple Hill Veterinary Service. After 6 years in practice for herself, she decided to close that chapter, in order to be closer to the ocean and lifelong friends, once again.

Dr. Emily is happy to be back in the Maritimes and to have the opportunity to work alongside Dr. Jordan. In her free time, Dr. Emily enjoys being in nature, and spending quality time with family and friends.
